According to investigators, officers from Precinct One initially responded to a report of a single vehicle collision in the northbound travel lanes of I-75. According to investigators, the Uniform Division of Zone Two was dispatched to Panda Drive in reference to a motor vehicle hijacking.  Upon arrival, the officers determined that the victim was approached by an armed male who demanded the keys to her 2007 Chrysler 300 vehicle.  The victim further advised that the perpetrator was driven to her location in a red (possibly a Ford Ranger) truck.  Once the perpetrator took possession of her vehicle, he fled the area following the red truck out of the subdivision.  The vehicle was located by two officers who chased the stolen vehicle for several miles.  The perpetrator lost control of the vehicle and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Camp Creek Parkway and I-285.  The perpetrator fled the area on foot and several agencies responded in attempt to locate him. Officers from the City of East Point Police Department later located the perpetrator identified as 22-year-old Johnques Wydell Lupoe of College Park, Georgia.  He was hiding on the roof of a motel near the scene where the hijacked vehicle was wrecked and abandoned.  Mr. Lupoe has been charged with Armed Robbery, Motor Vehicle Hijacking, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes.  He is currently in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Armed Robbery (01/05/08 @ 2130 hours in Zone 2) The Cobb County Police Department’s Robbery Squad is investigating an armed robbery which occurred at 3555 Austell Road in Austell, Georgia.

According to investigators, the Uniform Division of Zone Two was dispatched to the Ivy Commons Apartments in reference to an armed robbery.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined that 20–year-old Elvoris Hopkins and 18-year-old Deshawn Texeira approached three males that were playing baseball inside the complex.  Texeira pointed a replica firearm at the victims and demanded their wallets.  He proceeded to take possession of the wallets and fled the area on foot.  Hopkins also attempted to flee, but was suddenly attacked by two of the victims.  The victims were able to subdue Hopkins until officers arrived and took him into custody.  Texeira was struck in the head with a baseball, which was thrown by one of the victims who was pursuing him after he fled.  At that time, Texeria dropped the firearm and continued to run through the complex.  He later dropped the wallets after he noticed the victim was still pursuing him.  Texeira proceeded to hail an A-1 Taxi which he used to flee the area.  Members of the V.I.P.E.R.(Violent Incident Prevention and Early Response) Unit were dispatched to the area and later located Texeira inside the Waffle House located at 3536 Austell Road.  Both suspects, Texeira and Hopkins have been arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
